I grew up on the prairie of Western Canada. The prairies for me are friendly small towns, big blue sky, wide open space, unobstructed sight to the horizon, colourful fields in the summer, impressive thunderstorms, and (not for the timid) bleak, snow covered expanse under sunny skies and sometimes frigid wind chills nearing -40C / -40F.

The most precious field to me is the golden wheat field... swaying in the wind on a warm summer afternoon as captured in this image near Stonewall, Manitoba.
